Travertine House Kitchen
The first thing the clients told me is that they wanted to keep the existing travertine tile flooring in the kitchen. My initial thought that this was going to be a challenge because the previous colour scheme made the flooring a bit distracting. The goal was to work with the tile and create a cohesive design plan to make it seem like the tile colour was a conscious design choice. We used the earthy grey in the tile as the cabinet colour, used a simple picket tile as the backsplash and went bold with the countertop with a prominent vein that complemented the pattern in the flooring. To finish off the design we selected large pendants for the island to add some drama. The final result is a stunning kitchen that is magazine worthy!
